Qualitative research

Depth of an interview.
Size of a survey.

Qualitative research with verified participants, a moderator that probes, coding your researchers can audit, and results within a day.

Qualitative research used to force a choice between depth and sample size. It no longer has to.

AI qualitative research for teams who care about method: qualitative research at scale through AI-moderated in-depth interviews, and qualitative data analysis that is coded, reviewed and traceable to the source.

Rigour

Built the way
researchers work.

A real discussion guide

Objectives, questions and probes, drafted with you and versioned.

Neutral probing

Open questions, consistent follow-ups, no leading.

The right sample

Screened and verified participants, balanced across your segments.

Coded, then reviewed

Themes coded across sessions, checked by trained annotators, your codebook if you have one.

Audit trail

Every finding links to the quotes and clips behind it.

Mixed methods

Add a survey to measure what the interviews found.

Methods

More than a video call.

01

AI interviews, 1:1 →

Twenty to a hundred-plus in-depth interviews in hours, in many languages, moderated by AI and watched by your team.

02

In the moment, with consent →

Some behaviour cannot be recalled in an interview. We record real moments with consent: shopping, cooking, a support call, a first run of your app.

03

Expert panels →

For hard questions, several specialists work the case together. You get the verdict, the reasoning and where they disagreed.

04

Groups and surveys →

Focus groups when people should react to each other, and multi-language surveys when you need the numbers behind the story.

After the interview

Read every interview.
Not just the transcript.

When the interviews end, the work starts. Each conversation is broken into four aligned timelines, then analysed by models and reviewed by people.

Tone and paralinguistics

How something was said: hesitation, emphasis, sarcasm, the pause before a price. Measured across every session, not guessed from a quote.

Human labelling

Trained annotators code themes, check the AI's tags and label against your codebook. Linguists and domain experts when the study needs them.

Offline, across studies

Re-run analysis on past interviews with a new question. Compare cohorts, markets and waves without going back to field.

About qualitative research.

What is AI qualitative research?

Qualitative research (in-depth interviews, observation, open-ended exploration) where AI handles moderation and first-pass analysis, so studies can include far more participants without losing depth.

Does AI moderation hold up methodologically?

The moderator follows your guide, asks neutral open questions and probes consistently. Every session is recorded and transcribed, so each question and follow-up can be audited.

How is qualitative data analysed?

Transcripts are coded into themes across all sessions, with tone, emotion and behaviour aligned on the timeline. Trained annotators review the coding and can apply your codebook.

How many interviews is enough?

Saturation in a single homogeneous group often arrives around 12 to 20 interviews. With Cookiy it is cheap to run more and compare segments properly.

Can I export the data?

Yes: transcripts, coded data and clips, for your repository or your own analysis.
